MobileCon 2012 Oct 9-11 San Diego powered by CTIA.

As MobileCON 2012 enters its final day, CTIA-The Wireless Association® today announced more than 5,000 information technology professionals attended the three-day event which has focused exclusively on the mobile enterprise sector.

Drawing IT professionals from 43 different nations, 48 states, Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico, the more than 5,000 MobileCON attendees represent more than 1,800 companies, organizations and institutions, according to attendee registration.

61% of MobileCON 2012 attendees were comprised of enterprise and IT solutions providers, users, application companies, carriers and M2M providers. 59% of registrants were C-level or senior executives, CTIA said.

“With MobileCON 2012, we created something new and the response from industry, in terms of the number of attendees, the number of exhibitors and the diversity of geographies and sectors represented in both those camps has been extremely positive and a real validation of our vision for the show. Perhaps most significant is the flood of new interest we saw in the show this year. Forty-five percent of MobileCON 2012 attendees have never been to a CTIA event before,” said CTIA Vice President and Show Director Rob Mesirow.

“The best shows, the ones that really matter and really deliver value to attendees and exhibitors, don’t stand still — they evolve. That’s what we’ve done with MobileCON in building on our Enterprise & Applications™ conference. Next year’s event is likely to be even stronger,” Mesirow said.
