OtterBox grew out of a custom injection mold and manufacturing business. In the early days we manufactured and sold waterproof boxes to the dive, outdoor and photography markets. We gradually evolved to make cases that allowed interaction with a device through the waterproof case. Leaving the waterproof focus behind, we have since caught the smartphone wave and now make cases that protect smartphones and other handheld technology like phones, tablets and e-readers.
